Stevens Point Area Public School District Honors Local Businesses for Their Support
The Stevens Point Area Public School District is proud to recognize five local businesses for their outstanding contributions to our schools and community. These businesses were honored as part of the Wisconsin Association of School Boards (WASB) 2024 Business Honor Roll program, which highlights business partners that support schools through resources, opportunities, and collaboration.
“We are incredibly grateful for the generous contributions and partnerships of these businesses,” said School Board President, Jennifer Bushman. “Their support exemplifies the power of collaboration between schools and the community, helping us fulfill our mission to prepare every student for success.”
2024 WASB Business Honor Roll Recipients
Sentry Insurance
Sentry Insurance’s contributions to education include their partnership with Stevens Point Area Senior High (SPASH) in the Information Technology Youth Apprenticeship pathway and a $1 million grant from the Sentry Insurance Foundation. This funding supports STEM initiatives across the district’s nine elementary schools, enhancing interdisciplinary learning and fostering essential skills like problem-solving and collaboration.
Metal Crafters Inc.
Metal Crafters Inc. has shown an unwavering commitment to fostering student success through meaningful partnerships and contributions. Their dedication to the Youth Apprenticeship Program, including hands-on learning opportunities, job shadows, and tours, empowers students to develop skills and prepare for careers in the manufacturing industry.
Fall Line Outfitters Co.
Fall Line Outfitters Co. has played a critical role in the Wisconsin River Academy's (WRA) new fly fishing curriculum. Their contributions include materials, equipment, and discounts, as well as expert guidance for students in fly tying and casting. This program inspires young conservationists and promotes a love of the outdoors.
Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin
The Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin has supported initiatives that enhance students’ sense of belonging and family engagement. Their $5,000 contribution to the Learning Walks initiative established metrics to improve the student experience, while their support of “Real Talk” sessions deepened connections between families and the district.
Steel King
For over 40 years, Steel King has supported SPASH’s Welding Program through donations of steel and other resources, giving students hands-on learning opportunities that prepare them for successful careers in welding and related fields.
